About Us

Our small business appreciates you so much! It truly is a great honor to serve our wonderful community of fellow doughnut lovers. The level of care, attention and love that we put into making our products are the foundation of what we do and we couldn't do it without your support!

We work diligently to share our passion for scratch-made, high quality and handcrafted products. Every single step of our doughnut making process is done by hand, from scratch, using quality ingredients. We’re not part of a large doughnut chain that has hundreds of locations and mass produces doughnuts from factory style machinery with the cheapest ingredients possible. Unlike many donut chains that use premade dough mixes or premade and artificially flavored tubs of icings, glazes or jams, we make practically everything from scratch. Everything from our yeast-raised doughs, fillings (creams, curds, custards, etc.), toppings (puff pastry, cookie crumbs, cake crumbs, buttercreams, fluff, etc.) and icings are all made using recipes we’ve developed over the past eight years. Jams used in our jam filled doughnut varieties are sourced locally from Beth's Farm Kitchen based in Old Chatham, NY.

Our handcrafted brioche style yeast-raised doughnuts use lengthy and conventional bread making procedures. The dough for our doughnuts undergo a few proofing processes before being fried. One process is a 24-48 hour cold ferment that enhances flavor development.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Yes 100%! Always and forever! We make vegan brioche style dough for our doughnuts that is fermented for 24-48 hours for enhanced flavor development.

  • Our menu changes weekly, but mainstays include: strawberry sprinkle, glazed, maple pecan, chocolate sprinkle, vanilla bean sugar, banana cinnamon crumb, toasted coconut, lavender vanilla, blueberry, NY cream, strawberry jam, vanilla old-fashion cake, double chocolate old-fashion cake, cinnamon sugar twists, lemon poppy seed twists and vanilla glazed twists.

  • No, we are not certified kosher at this time.

  • Yes, all of our products are made with gluten.

  • Our doughnuts are not 100% organic, but we use many ingredients that are. We simply try to find the best ingredients, some of which are organic.

  • Yes, our doughnuts are not suitable for people with barley, coconut, corn, sesame, soy, or wheat allergies. People with a gluten sensitivity or intolerance should not consume our doughnuts. Nuts are used heavily in our facility, so cross contamination is likely to occur. Our doughnuts are not made with sesame, but we do use some ingredients that may be processed in the same facility as sesame.  We advise anyone with barley, coconut, corn, nuts, sesame, soy, or wheat allergies to avoid consumption of our products entirely.

  • We use King Arthur Baking flours, which contain wheat and barley flour.

  • We use canola oil to fry our doughnuts.

  • No, we do not.  All of our ingredients are natural.

  • Just like any fried food, day-old doughnuts are never very good. The longer doughnuts are held, the more they will deteriorate in quality. Since we do not use any preservatives or stabilizers in our doughnuts, they should be enjoyed as soon as they are purchased, preferably within 3 hours to maintain optimal freshness.

Filled doughnuts should be consumed as soon as possible as the fillings can spoil if you keep them for a prolonged period of time. Unfilled doughnuts can be eaten within 24 hours, but quality and texture will be compromised, so please order accordingly.

  • It’s best to consume your doughnuts the day they are purchased. We do not use any preservatives or stabilizers in our products, so the shelf life is very short.

Please consume unfilled doughnuts within 24 hours for best quality. Filled doughnuts should be consumed as soon as possible as the fillings can spoil if you keep them for a prolonged period of time.

You can refrigerate filled donuts, but this will cause the doughnuts to dry out and will reduce the quality. Always allow a refrigerated doughnut to come back to room temperature.

Unfilled doughnuts should be kept at room temperature in the box or bag they were packaged in, so they can ‘breathe.’ Plastic containers will lock in moisture; possibly resulting in runny icings and a soggy doughnut.

You can refresh a day-old doughnut by popping them in a microwave for 15-20 seconds or in a 350° toaster oven for about 1 minute or less (will slightly affect the icing and draw out the oil making it more greasy).

  • While we always recommend consuming our doughnuts as soon as they are purchased or within 3 hours, some guests have said they’ve frozen our doughnuts to prolong the shelf life.

If you do freeze your doughnuts, we recommend allowing them to thaw out at room temperature for several hours before consuming for the softest texture.

Please note, freezing negatively affects the icings, glazes and certain toppings.

  • The dough for our doughnuts is fermented for 24-48 hours for enhanced flavor development.

Our doughnuts are made, cut, fried, filled and decorated by hand.

We do not use pre-made mixes, icings or fillings to make our doughnuts.

Everything is scratch-made from high quality ingredients.

We carefully source our ingredients because it’s extremely important to us that we serve our guests mindfully and compassionately crafted treats.

We do not use animal products, bone char ingredients, hydrogenated oils, trans fat, GMO ingredients, palm oil, artificial flavors or synthetic coloring in our products.

We use many organic ingredients such as non-dairy milk, organic coconut based non-dairy butter, chocolate chips and cocoa powder.

We use unbleached and unbromated flour and fair trade chocolate chips and cocoa powder in our products.

Flavors change seasonally and are often inspired by our favorite desserts.

We collaborate with many other local vegan vendors to offer innovative flavors that you cannot find elsewhere. Supporting other vegan businesses and the vegan community as a whole is very important to us!

  • No. At this time, we do not offer delivery, nor do we work directly with any of the delivery services like Postmates, Uber Eats, etc.

  • Our doughnuts are handmade daily without preservatives. We value the quality of our products and since yeast raised doughnuts have a very short shelf life, shipping is not an option.

  • No, we are no longer offering preorders. Our products are available on a first come, first serve basis during our hours of operation or until we sell out. Occasionally we offer special or holiday preorders, so please subscribe to our newsletter or follow us on social media for preorder updates.

  • We are not accepting special or custom orders or offering catering at this time.

  • As much as we would love to, we are not able to do any sort of custom doughnuts. We only offer what is on our current daily/weekly menu.

  • We do not wholesale our products at this time.

  • Our doughnuts range from $4.00 to $6.00 depending on the flavor and type.

  • Our doughnuts are scratch-made in small batches from quality ingredients and require a considerable amount of labor to produce.

When we say everything is scratch-made from high quality ingredients, we mean everything. Our yeast-raised doughs, fillings (puddings, creams, curds, custards, etc.), toppings (puff pastry, cookie crumbs, cake crumbs, etc.) and icings are all made in-house from scratch using recipes we’ve developed over the past eight years.

We never use pre-made dough mixes, icings or fillings to make our doughnuts.

Unlike cake donuts that are more easily and quickly made from stiff cake batters, we handcraft brioche style yeast-raised doughnuts, which require lengthier and conventional bread making procedures that yield light and fluffy doughnuts with a slight chew. The dough for our doughnuts undergo a few proofing processes before we are able to fry them. One process is a 24-48 hour cold ferment for enhanced flavor development.

Simply our ingredient and labor costs are higher than the national doughnut chains we are often compared to. If you were to take a look at most artisan doughnut shops (vegan or not) across the country, you’ll notice a higher pricing structure with prices ranging from $3-$5 for doughnuts because they face the same reality. We’re not part of a large doughnut chain that has hundreds of locations and mass produces doughnuts from factory style machinery with the cheapest ingredients possible. As a very small business, we also don’t have access to the vast amount of resources and bulk discounts that doughnut chains with longstanding infrastructure do. Every single step of our doughnut making process is done by hand, from scratch, using quality ingredients.

  • All food related purchases are final—We do not offer refunds or exchanges. Merch related purchases are handled on a case by case basis and require a receipt for a refund or exchange.

  • No, we have not conducted a nutrient analysis of our products.

  • The owners handle all aspects of the social media.

  • We are a small business with a small crew. The work life balance of our team is always at the forefront of our operating decisions.
